Anne-Mari Pahkala (b.1984) is a Finnish fashion designer renowned for her minimalist, timeless philosophy that embodies an elevated approach to sustainability and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship. Her lifetime-long career, which includes her three year role as Head of Design at Samuji, follows her formal education in Fashion Design (BA, 2007), alongside a foundational six-year period working as a Costume Designer in television.

In 2024, Pahkala’s creation gained international recognition at the Golden Globe Awards in Hollywood, where she designed a bespoke red-carpet evening dress for actress Alma Pöysti. Beyond fashion, she has a deep passion for art, with Finnish glass design and its traditions holding a special place in her heart. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for Finland’s first Glass Biennale in 2025. Pahkala discovered her fascination with glass design while living in Venice, Italy, in 2006 as part of her fashion design studies. During that time, Italy left a lasting impression. More than just a second home, it remains an endless source of inspiration and creativity, drawing her back time and again to deepen her vision.
